A 23-year-old fast-food cook in Vancouver sustained serious facial injuries on January 12 after being punched by a 24-year-old man who was upset over a refusal to add free bacon to a burger.
The incident occurred at a Fatburger on Granville Street, where the suspect, Jaxon Andre Carter, allegedly attacked the worker behind the counter and fled before being pursued and arrested by nearby police officers.
Carter was charged with assault causing bodily harm and released on bail, despite previously being on bail for another alleged assault.
The case is part of a recent rise in violent incidents in Metro Vancouver.
