The Tripura-Mizoram gas pipeline, 45% complete, will deliver affordable natural gas to homes and industries by late 2027.
As of January 15, 2026, the 119.5-kilometer Tripura-Mizoram natural gas pipeline project is 45% complete, with construction underway under the North East Natural Gas Pipeline Grid.
Executed by Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited, the pipeline will run from Panisagar in Tripura through several towns to the proposed Sihhmui terminal near Mamit in Mizoram, with completion expected by December 2027.
Once operational, it will supply natural gas for domestic, commercial, industrial, and transportation uses, with Tripura Natural Gas Corporation Limited managing household connections in Aizawl.
Mizoram’s Civil Supplies Minister B Lalchhanzova, who inspected the project in Agartala, emphasized its role in delivering affordable gas, creating jobs, and boosting industrial development, urging timely and quality execution.
