A Texas man killed four in a child visitation dispute, then died by suicide, police say.

A domestic dispute over child visitation in Slaton, Texas, escalated into a fatal shooting on January 11, 2026, leaving four dead and two critically injured. George Cantu, 27, entered a home armed with a handgun, shot and wounded his common-law ex-wife Jasmine Rivas, 24, and Isaiah Chapa, 20, before fatally shooting cousins Marisol Ramirez, 18, and Araceli Valdez, 23. Cantu then died by suicide. Both Rivas and Chapa remain hospitalized in serious condition.
