Spokane schools open four on-site clinics for student health care, funded by COVID relief.
Spokane Public Schools have expanded on-site healthcare access by opening medical clinics at four high schools, including Ferris, Shadle Park, North Central, and Rogers, with the Ferris clinic recently holding a grand opening.
Operated by CHAS Health, the clinics provide students with routine care—such as vaccinations, sports physicals, illness treatment, and mental health services—without requiring insurance or time away from school.
The initiative, funded in part by city COVID relief funds, aims to reduce health disparities and improve attendance, particularly benefiting student athletes needing same-day care.
Since opening, the Ferris clinic has served 87 patients across 132 visits, with school leaders noting improved immunization rates and reduced absenteeism.
