A Maine woman was killed when a truck crossed the centerline and struck her parked car and body.
A 71-year-old woman, Jean Appleby Johnson, died Wednesday afternoon in Harpswell, Maine, after being struck by a northbound 2019 Chevrolet Silverado that crossed the centerline and hit her parked BMW X3 and her on Harpswell Islands Road near Tower Hill Road.
Johnson was outside her vehicle when the crash occurred around 2:50–3 p.m.
The truck driver, 41-year-old Alton Wyman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Maine Medical Center.
He is cooperating with authorities as the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office investigates the incident.
The area was cordoned off for evidence collection, and no further details have been released.
