Lhasa’s 2025 GDP surpassed 100 billion yuan, fueled by tourism, investments, and new enterprises.
In 2025, Lhasa, capital of China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, exceeded 100 billion yuan in regional GDP for the first time, driven by a 5% rise in retail sales, over 5% growth in fixed-asset investment, and the launch of 60 key projects.
The city added 61 high-tech and 11 large-scale industrial enterprises, saw imports and exports reach 5.5 billion yuan, and recorded 50.51 million tourists generating 60.6 billion yuan in revenue, a 14.5% increase.
Lhasa plans to strengthen industrial chains in 2026 to build a modern industrial system.
