KKR has closed a $2.5 billion fund for its second Asia-Pacific private credit strategy, the largest pan-regional fund focused on performing credit in the region, with $1.8 billion from its Asia Credit Opportunities Fund II and $700 million from separately managed accounts.
The firm has made over 60 investments since 2019, deploying $8.3 billion in capital with $27.5 billion in total transaction value across sectors like healthcare, real estate, and infrastructure in countries including Japan, India, and Australia.
The fundraising reflects strong investor demand, particularly from global insurers, sovereign wealth funds, and Asian-based institutions, driven by Asia’s underpenetrated private credit market and the search for higher, risk-adjusted returns amid global economic uncertainty.
