Iain Black has joined the B.C. Conservative leadership race, aiming to succeed John Rustad.

Iain Black, a former B.C. minister under Gordon Campbell and ex-CEO of the Vancouver Board of Trade, has entered the race to lead the B.C. Conservative Party, launching his campaign in Coquitlam with the slogan “get B.C. back on track.” His entry adds to a growing field of candidates seeking to replace John Rustad, who stepped down in December 2025. Other contenders include Caroline Elliott, Sheldon Clare, Yuri Fulmer, and Warren Hamm. The leadership race will shape the party’s future direction ahead of upcoming elections.
