Gunnedah Hospital in New South Wales opened its new $53 million Acute Services Building on January 14, 2026, featuring an expanded emergency department with a dedicated Anzac Parade entrance and drive-up access, improved maternity and inpatient units, and a new ambulance entry on Reservoir Street. The facility, connected to the main hospital, now directs emergency patients to the new wing, while non-emergency services continue via Marquis Street. Staff and equipment were relocated in a phased transition, with the old emergency department remaining open during the shift. The project, developed with community input and completed by Richard Crookes Constructions, aims to enhance regional healthcare access and quality for Gunnedah and surrounding areas.
