Former Hubei official Jiang Chaoliang admitted using power to enrich his brothers through corrupt deals, as shown in a Jan. 14, 2026, TV documentary.
Jiang Chaoliang, former top official in Hubei province, admitted in a state TV documentary aired January 14, 2026, that he abused his power to enrich his younger brothers, who acted as intermediaries in corruption schemes.
The documentary revealed a decades-long pattern starting in the 1990s, when businessman Li Yuanguang cultivated Jiang’s family to gain influence, securing contracts through Jiang’s positions at Agricultural Bank of China and later in provincial leadership.
Jiang’s brothers used his authority to win major projects, especially in Xiaogan, reselling contracts for profit.
Officials like Pan Qisheng were promoted in exchange for favoring the brothers.
Jiang was expelled from the Communist Party and removed from office in October 2025, with his case handed to prosecutors.
Authorities warned that such “hunting” of officials fuels a deep-rooted cycle of corruption.
El ex funcionario de Hubei, Jiang Chaoliang, admitió haber usado el poder para enriquecer a sus hermanos a través de acuerdos corruptos, como se muestra en un documental de televisión del 14 de enero de 2026.
