FCTA to crack down on unpaid fees and illegal property conversions, sealing sites and revoking titles.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) is launching a sweeping enforcement campaign next week targeting property owners behind on ground rents, Certificate of Occupancy fees, and land use conversion charges.
Focused on illegal conversions of residential to commercial properties in areas like Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse’s Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, and Garki Areas 7 and 8, the initiative includes sealing properties and revoking titles.
Officials say commercial use requires higher payments, and no exemptions will be granted in the initial phase.
The 2026 effort is broader than last year’s operation, which mainly addressed overdue ground rents.
