Two Maine DOT workers died Tuesday when a minivan crashed into their bridge repair crew on I-95, closing southbound lanes.
Two Maine DOT workers, James Brown, 60, and Dwayne Campbell, 51, both of Waterville, were killed Tuesday morning, January 13, 2026, in a crash on southbound I-95 near Exit 127.
A gray Kia minivan failed to stop at a sign and entered the travel lane, colliding with a tractor-trailer, which pushed the minivan into a work zone where the three workers were repairing a bridge.
Two workers were thrown over the bridge onto Kennedy Memorial Drive and died at the scene; a third was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Southbound lanes were closed for several hours, and the investigation is ongoing.
