Sky has greenlit an eight-part TV series adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, set to begin filming in Lithuania in spring 2026.
Created by Steve Lightfoot and Angela LaManna and produced by Left Bank Pictures, the series will follow journalist Mikael Blomkvist and hacker Lisbeth Salander as they investigate a decades-old disappearance, with themes of systemic abuse, gender-based violence, and societal issues updated for today’s world.
The show, which will premiere on Sky in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, is being distributed internationally by Sony Pictures Television, with U.S. distribution still pending.
This marks a major revival of the franchise after previous film and TV adaptations, including David Fincher’s 2011 movie.
