North London Collegiate School (Singapore) has launched the Young Musicians Award, a regional competition for instrumentalists aged 5 to 18 across Asia. Open to non-students, it offers finalists performance opportunities in a 700-seat auditorium, professional recording sessions at Lion Studios via a partnership with Songwork International, and feedback from international judges, including a Singapore Symphony Orchestra associate conductor and a Tchaikovsky Competition silver medalist. Winners may perform at a gala concert or with a symphony orchestra, and one musician receives a S$5,000 scholarship. The initiative supports young artists’ development within Asia’s growing classical music scene, aligning with the school’s focus on academic excellence, creativity, and global citizenship.
