Lister Hospital’s A&E is overwhelmed again, prompting warnings to use NHS 111 or urgent treatment centres for non-emergencies.
Lister Hospital’s A&E in Stevenage is under extreme pressure again, prompting officials to urge patients with non-emergency conditions to use NHS 111 or nearby Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) at Lister, New QEII, Hemel Hempstead, or Watford General.
UTCs are open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., except Watford General, which stays open until 2 a.m.
The Lister UTC closes at 8 p.m.
These centres treat minor injuries like cuts, burns, stings, bruises, suspected fractures, and foreign objects in ears or noses.
This is the second such alert in one week, following a similar notice on January 6 due to ongoing regional strain on emergency services.
El A&E del Hospital Lister está abrumado de nuevo, lo que provoca advertencias para usar el NHS 111 o los centros de tratamiento urgente para casos que no sean emergencias.
