India’s Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has provided LPG connections to 10.41 crore households, nearing its 10.60 crore target, with over 276 crore refills delivered since launch.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted sustained usage, noting an average of 13.6 lakh refills delivered daily in 2024–25 and a rise in household consumption from 3 to 4.85 cylinders annually.
The program, launched in 2016, offers deposit-free connections, free stoves, and first refills to women in poor households.
Nationwide, over 55 lakh cylinders are delivered daily, supporting cleaner cooking and improved health.
