India lowers NEET-PG 2025 cutoffs to fill 18,000 medical seats, effective Jan. 13, 2026.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) lowered the NEET-PG 2025 qualifying percentiles on January 13, 2026, to fill over 18,000 unfilled postgraduate medical seats.
Cut-offs were reduced to the 7th percentile for General/EWS, 5th for PwBD, and 0th (equivalent to -40 marks) for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
The move, prompted by a request from the Indian Medical Association, aims to boost seat utilization without compromising merit, ensuring MBBS graduates who completed internships can access training through centralized, transparent counselling.
