Dell boosts PowerStore capacity to 2PB in 2U with efficient 30TB QLC drives, slashing costs and enhancing security.
Dell has updated its PowerStore storage platform with 30TB QLC drives, enabling up to 2PB of usable data in 2U of rack space with 5:1 data reduction, doubling capacity per unit.
The new drives improve power efficiency by up to 23% and reduce total cost of ownership by up to 15% versus prior systems, while maintaining NVMe performance and latency.
Enhanced data protection includes synchronous, asynchronous, and metro sync replication with zero RPO/RTO for critical workloads, multiparty authorization requiring dual admin approval, and integration with PowerProtect and AI-driven anomaly detection.
Advanced NFSv4.2 support, including Server-Side Copy and Sparse Files, along with a "Top Talkers" monitoring tool, improves efficiency and security.
The update aligns with Dell’s private cloud strategy and is the first of planned 2026 enhancements, all included at no extra cost.
