A Vancouver hearing begins to investigate the 2015 death of Myles Gray, who died after being restrained by seven officers.
A 10-week public hearing begins in Vancouver to examine the 2015 death of Myles Gray, a 33-year-old man who died from severe injuries after being restrained by seven police officers.
Led by retired B.C.
Supreme Court justice Elizabeth Arnold-Bailey, the hearing will assess whether officers used unnecessary force or failed to timely document the incident.
Though an external review cleared them of misconduct and a 2023 coroner’s inquest ruled the death a homicide without assigning blame, the case remains under scrutiny.
The hearing, at UBC’s Robson Square, will determine if misconduct occurred and recommend policy changes if warranted.
