A UK nurse was struck off for sexually assaulting a student and bullying colleagues, with the decision upheld despite his denial.
Henry Mutasa, a senior lecturer in mental health nursing, has been struck off the nursing register by the NMC after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a student nurse and bullying three others during his time at University College Isle of Man and Manx Care between 2019 and 2023. The panel determined his actions—groping a student, inappropriate physical contact, intimidation, and sharing confidential information—were sexually motivated and breached professional standards. Despite his denials and lack of insight, the panel found the student accounts credible and concluded that removing him from the register was necessary to protect public trust and uphold the profession’s integrity. He has 28 days to appeal.
