On January 12, 2026, three people in Beauregard, Alabama, were arrested after deputies found 29 dead dogs in plastic bags in a backyard and 24 emaciated live dogs inside their home.
The individuals, Curtis Dewayne Haralson, Patricia Ann Sims, and Tiffany Ann Sims, were taken into custody at the Lee County jail.
Lee County Animal Control seized the surviving dogs, and felony charges are expected as the investigation continues.
Authorities are urging the public to report any information to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office or Central Alabama Crime Stoppers.
