Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inducted 50 transgender individuals into the Home Guard service, marking a milestone in inclusive employment under the 2025 State Policy for Transgender Persons. The recruits, trained and deployed across six cities for duties like traffic and crowd management, are part of a broader initiative that includes job placements, self-employment subsidies, and expanded welfare benefits such as increased pensions and scholarships. The event also celebrated the 300,000th job placement through state job fairs since 2021, launched new Aavin milk projects worth ₹80.62 crore, and distributed Pongal bonuses to temple pensioners and farmers.
