South Africa’s corruption inquiry resumes Jan. 26, 2026, to examine justice system misconduct.
The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry will resume public hearings on 26 January 2026, beginning Phase Two of its investigation into corruption, political interference, and criminality in South Africa’s justice system.
Following a preliminary report submitted to President Cyril Ramaphosa on 17 December 2025, the commission will allow implicated individuals, including senior police officials, to respond to allegations and present their own evidence.
Additional witnesses are expected, and the inquiry aims to conclude by late April 2026, with a final report due within six months.
