Rudy Gobert suspended one game for reaching six flagrant foul points, per NBA rules.
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert has been suspended for one game without pay after accumulating six flagrant foul points this season, triggering the NBA’s automatic suspension rule.
The suspension, which will keep him out of Tuesday’s road game against the Milwaukee Bucks, follows a flagrant foul in Sunday’s 104-103 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Gobert, 33, is averaging 11.0 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 71.7% from the field.
Under the league’s system, a Level 1 flagrant foul results in a one-game suspension, while a Level 2 or any flagrant after seven points leads to a two-game suspension.
This marks the first suspension of the season under the updated policy.
