Oxfordshire removed old pothole reports to fix a comment glitch, sparking complaints over transparency.
Oxfordshire County Council removed thousands of old pothole reports from its FixMyStreet app to fix a system flaw allowing public comments on open requests, leaving only the most recent 50 to 100.
Residents complained about lost records and lack of transparency, though the council said all new reports are still reviewed and acted upon when within their authority, citing 1,607 resolved issues in the past month.
The change comes as Oxfordshire’s road maintenance was rated 'amber' under a new government traffic light system, with West Northamptonshire rated 'red' and West Berkshire 'green'.
