Metropolis Technologies settles Tennessee case over deceptive parking practices with $8.75M payout.
Metropolis Technologies has agreed to a $8.75 million settlement with Tennessee over allegations of deceptive parking practices, including inaccurate pricing, surprise fees, and misleading billing.
The company will pay $6.5 million for consumer refunds and fund a $2.25 million free parking program offering up to $30 in credits per driver with Tennessee plates.
As part of the agreement, Metropolis must display clear pricing, send rate alerts, provide a 15-minute grace period, avoid implying government ties, and automatically refund overcharges due to system errors.
The settlement resolves over 300 complaints and applies to parking lots in Nashville, Knoxville, and Memphis.
Consumers who paid between July 1, 2021, and January 6, 2026, may qualify for refunds, with claim details to be released soon.
