Websol Renewable gets approval to build an 8 GW solar plant in India, creating 2,000 jobs and boosting domestic clean energy production.
Websol Renewable has received approval to invest ₹3,538 crore in an 8 GW integrated solar manufacturing plant in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, with 4 GW of solar cell and 4 GW of module capacity.
The project, spread over 120 acres, will be developed in two phases, with commercial production starting in July 2027 and 2028.
It will create around 2,000 direct jobs and include a 100 MW captive solar power plant.
The state is offering significant incentives, including land at reduced rates, a 48.5% capital subsidy, and power tariff reimbursements.
The development supports India’s push for domestic solar manufacturing and clean energy goals.
