Suna East MP Junet Mohamed faces internal ODM conflict over his coalition support, amid a slap incident and past nomination fraud claims.
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed is embroiled in escalating internal conflict within the ODM over the party’s alliance with President Ruto’s UDA-led government.
His support for the coalition has split the party, with leaders like Caroli Omondi and Edwin Sifuna opposing it.
A physical altercation reportedly occurred at State House, where Omondi claims Junet confronted him over a meeting with the head of civil service, leading to a slap that was interrupted by a senior official.
Junet reportedly complained to Ruto, who did not respond.
The incident adds to longstanding controversy over Junet’s 2013 nomination, when a court was urged to invalidate his ODM certificate after officials confirmed it was forged and incumbent John Pesa was the rightful nominee.
Despite the disputes, Junet remains in office as Leader of the Minority in the National Assembly and has withdrawn from public view.
El diputado de Suna East, Junet Mohamed, se enfrenta a un conflicto interno con el ODM por su apoyo a la coalición, en medio de un incidente de bofetada y acusaciones de fraude en las nominaciones anteriores.
