Dr Gideon Boako clarified that Stephen Amoah, known as Sticka, was never seriously considered for Deputy Finance Minister or Finance Minister in 2021. He explained that when then-Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta was abroad for health reasons, Boako declined the deputy role, and Sticka was not appointed due to internal concerns from the minister. Amin Adam, already a Minister of State, was chosen amid political instability and a hung Parliament to avoid vetting risks. Boako stated the appointment was based on practicality and qualifications, not political favoritism, and dismissed claims that Vice President Bawumia blocked Sticka’s advancement.
