The Oxford to Didcot Parkway rail line will be fully closed from February 1 to 8, 2026, for 10 days as part of the Oxford Station Enhancements Project, with the Botley Road bridge being demolished.
All train services between the two stations will be replaced by buses from midnight on February 1 until 4:45 a.m. on February 8, departing from Becket Street’s long-stay car park.
The walkway between Botley Road and Frideswide Square will also close, with an accessible diversion through Oxford station.
Other rail services, including routes to London Paddington, Worcester, Banbury, Birmingham, Manchester, and Bournemouth, will continue.
The new bridge will support expanded station facilities, better pedestrian and cycle access, improved bus links, and greater flood resilience.
