Nigeria pays second dividend to Heritage Bank depositors, 5.2 kobo per N1, after bank's 2024 closure.
The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) will pay a second liquidation dividend of ₦24.3 billion to depositors of defunct Heritage Bank with balances above the ₦5 million insured limit, at 5.2 kobo per N1.00.
This brings the total dividend paid to 14.4 kobo per N1.00.
Funds will be automatically credited to eligible depositors’ alternative accounts using their BVN, following the Central Bank of Nigeria’s license revocation in June 2024.
Depositors without BVNs or accounts must visit an NDIC office or submit an e-claim.
Payments to creditors and shareholders will only follow full reimbursement of depositors, if funds remain.
