A steel-toed boot prevented serious injury to a man shot in the foot during a road rage incident at a Flowood, Mississippi Chick-fil-A on Saturday night, police said.
The victim, treated and released, was struck by a bullet that was stopped by the boot.
Kyle Maurice Ramos, 39, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He is held without bond at Rankin County Jail and is set to appear in Flowood Municipal Court.
Authorities have not disclosed details about the altercation, and the investigation is ongoing.
