A man in Jammu and Kashmir was arrested for forging court job letters and scamming victims out of 4 lakh rupees.
Mohd Tahir, a man from Banola in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, was arrested on January 11, 2026, by the Jammu and Kashmir police for allegedly defrauding two individuals using forged appointment letters purportedly from the High Court.
Victims claimed they paid a total of Rs 4 lakh based on Tahir’s promises of jobs, but documents were confirmed fake.
The crime branch registered a case under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita for cheating and forgery.
Authorities are investigating the full scope of the fraud.
