The plan, unveiled at the Matsya Mela in Kavaratti, focuses on tuna and seaweed value chains, marine cage farming, ornamental fisheries, and sustainable practices like Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture.
It supports youth and women-led startups, develops infrastructure including hatcheries and cold chains, and promotes exports through mainland hubs.
Funding is expected via the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, with over Rs 500 crore in investment proposals already secured.
