A Dhaka court dismissed charges against actress Mehazabien Chowdhury and her brother over alleged threats in a failed business investment case.

A Dhaka court has discharged actress Mehazabien Chowdhury and her brother Alishan Chowdhury from a criminal case involving allegations of threatening and intimidating a man who claimed to have invested Tk 27 lakh in a promised business venture that never launched. The case, filed in March 2025, stemmed from an alleged confrontation at a Hatirjheel restaurant where the complainant said he was verbally abused and threatened with death. After the siblings surrendered and were granted bail in November 2025, the court concluded proceedings on January 12, 2026, dismissing the charges and ending the case.
