Activists in Minneapolis distributed 3D-printed tire-drainers on ICE vehicles, prompting a 1,000-officer DHS response.
Anti-ICE activists in Minneapolis have distributed 3D-printed tire-deflating devices, or "tire-drainers," near the University of Minnesota, according to a local politician.
The devices, found in a package recovered by former state representative Jerry Munson, included instructions to attach them to unattended ICE vehicle tires and a QR code linking to the design file.
Authorities have condemned the act as dangerous and criminal, citing risks to law enforcement.
In response, the Department of Homeland Security announced plans to increase ICE operations in the city with an additional 1,000 officers.
