A 47-year-old woman is set to stand trial on January 12, 2026, at the Central Criminal Court in Limerick, Ireland, on charges of attempting to murder her eight-year-old daughter in County Clare on September 27, 2022.
The child was critically injured in a stabbing and underwent emergency surgery at Crumlin Children’s Hospital in Dublin, where she later recovered.
The case, involving a two-volume Book of Evidence, was transferred to the Central Criminal Court in June 2023 after a judge ordered the accused’s return for trial.
Legal aid has been granted for a psychiatric assessment, a Russian translation of documents, and representation by senior and junior counsel.
The trial will be presided over by Mr Justice Kerida Naidoo.
