West Bengal's Opposition Leader claims TMC supporters attacked his convoy; no injuries, police probe ongoing.
Suvendu Adhikari, West Bengal’s Leader of Opposition, alleged on January 10, 2026, that his convoy was attacked by Trinamool Congress supporters near Chandrakona in Paschim Medinipur district around 8:20 p.m. while returning from Purulia.
He claimed attackers used sticks and bamboo, that police failed to intervene, and accused the TMC and state government of enabling political violence.
Adhikari began a sit-in protest at the Chandrakona police station demanding an FIR and arrests, citing a pattern of similar incidents, including one in August 2025.
The TMC denied responsibility, attributing the clash to public unrest.
No injuries were reported, and the situation remains under investigation.
