Walmart and drone delivery company Wing are expanding their partnership to 150 new stores in four major cities—Los Angeles, St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Miami—adding to existing services in Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte, Orlando, and Tampa. The rollout, beginning in early 2026, will bring the total number of drone delivery locations to over 270 by 2027, serving roughly 40 million people. The service, which has already completed about 150,000 deliveries since 2021, sees top customers ordering an average of three times per week, with demand tripling in six months. Wing’s drones, capable of carrying up to 5 pounds and flying up to 12 miles at 65 mph, deliver packages directly to lawns using tethers. The expansion aims to reduce last-mile delivery emissions by replacing some truck routes with electric drones.
