Two men arrested in India for kidnapping infants, leading to rescue of five children sold to childless couples.
Police in Warangal, Telangana, arrested two men, Kodupaka Naresh and Velpula Yadagiri, in connection with the December 28, 2025, kidnapping of a five-month-old boy near Kazipet railway station.
The suspects were part of a ring targeting infants under one year old from transport hubs, allegedly selling them to childless couples.
Based on their confessions, authorities rescued five children—including infants and a three-year-old—taken between June 2025 and October 2025 from Warangal, Mancherial, Ramagundam, and Jagtial.
The children were sold under false pretenses of orphanage origins.
The couples who acquired them without legal adoption were also detained.
Police praised the joint operation and urged legal adoption to prevent exploitation.
