Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of India’s three-match ODI series against New Zealand due to a right side strain sustained during a practice session in Vadodara. He was hit above the waist during a throwdown, prompting medical attention and subsequent scans confirming a ribcage impact and strain. Pant, who recently captained Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, will rest and rehab at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. His absence, following a prior foot fracture, leaves a vacancy filled by likely candidates Dhruv Jurel or Ishan Kishan.
