A 900-pound bronze Kermit the Frog statue, moved from Hollywood to Atlanta’s Puppetry Arts, honors Jim Henson’s legacy.
A 900-pound bronze statue of Kermit the Frog has arrived at Atlanta’s Center for Puppetry Arts after a 2,000-mile journey from Hollywood’s Chaplin Studio, where it had stood since the early 2000s.
The Henson family arranged the move following the studio’s 2024 sale, donating the sculpture to the museum.
Unveiled by director Jill Nash Malool, the frog, dressed in a Charlie Chaplin-inspired outfit, will undergo restoration before a public debut.
The statue symbolizes Kermit’s legacy and Atlanta’s ties to Jim Henson and puppetry arts.
