Egypt’s 2025 parliamentary elections conclude with President al-Sisi’s coalition securing a constitutional super-majority.
Egypt’s National Elections Authority finalized the 2025 parliamentary elections on January 10, 2026, completing the 596-member House of Representatives with 568 elected lawmakers after 99 days of voting and runoff elections in 27 districts.
Voter turnout was 32.41% among 69.9 million registered voters, with 21.2 million valid votes cast.
The results, delayed due to court-ordered reruns, confirm President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s coalition retains a super-majority, enabling a two-thirds majority needed to amend the constitution.
Opposition and independent candidates are projected to hold about 158 seats, while the president appoints an additional 5%.
The process was conducted under judicial supervision and monitored by domestic and international observers.
