China's Tianma-1000 cargo drone successfully flew for the first time, marking a key step in its low-altitude economy goals.
China's domestically developed Tianma-1000 unmanned cargo drone completed its first flight on January 11, 2026, marking a milestone in the country's low-altitude economy push.
Developed by Xi'an Aisheng Technology Group, a Norinco subsidiary, the one-ton drone can fly up to 1,800 kilometers at altitudes of 8,000 meters, operate from unpaved surfaces with under 200 meters of runway, and autonomously navigate complex terrain using intelligent route planning and obstacle avoidance.
It features a modular cargo bay, rapid automated loading/unloading, and an optical guidance landing system for low-visibility operations.
The aircraft aims to support logistics, emergency rescue, and delivery in remote or infrastructure-limited regions.
