Bangladesh seeks to join U.S.-backed Gaza peace force as ceasefire stalls and casualties mount.
Bangladesh has expressed interest in joining the U.S.-backed International Stabilization Force for Gaza, following a meeting between its national security adviser and senior U.S. diplomats.
The move comes as the ceasefire remains stalled, with over 400 Palestinians and three Israeli soldiers killed since October, and nearly all of Gaza’s 2 million residents living in damaged or makeshift shelters.
The UN-authorized force aims to support peace and security, but implementation remains uncertain.
Bangladesh’s potential role was not detailed, and the U.S. State Department did not comment.
