She will perform alongside pop sensation Mariah Carey, who was the first international pop artist to be announced for the event. Produced by Marco Balich, the three-hour event will showcase the Parade of Athletes and be broadcast live from Milan, Cortina, Livigno, and Predazzo to represent the vast geographic scope of the Games. Tenor Bocelli, who is well-known throughout the world, will perform during a break from his world tour; concerts in the United States are planned following the ceremony. Italian actors Sabrina Impacciatore and Matilde De Angelis will be present at the event, which honors the late fashion designer Giorgio Armani, who created Italy's Olympic uniforms.
