West Bengal’s opposition leader demands proof within 72 hours for CM Mamata Banerjee’s coal scam allegations against him and Amit Shah.
West Bengal's opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari has sent a legal notice to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, demanding she provide evidence for her allegations that he and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were involved in a coal scam within 72 hours.
Adhikari called the claims defamatory and politically motivated, accusing Banerjee of trying to divert attention from an ongoing Enforcement Directorate investigation.
He warned that failure to produce evidence could lead to civil and criminal defamation proceedings.
The notice, filed through advocate Suryaneel Das, comes after Banerjee accused Adhikari of funneling scam money to Shah and defended her entry into an I-PAC office during an ED raid.
The dispute has intensified political tensions in the state.
