India-Oman CEPA launched Jan. 10, 2026, granting India near-total duty-free access to Oman’s market.
The India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) took effect on January 10, 2026, granting India 100% duty-free access to Oman’s market for 98.08% of tariff lines, covering 99.38% of its trade value based on 2022–23 data.
This immediate benefit expands access for Indian exports in sectors like pharmaceuticals, textiles, and engineering goods, significantly improving upon the previous 15.33% duty-free access under the Most Favored Nation regime.
The agreement aims to boost bilateral trade, create jobs, and strengthen supply chains, with trade reaching $10.61 billion in FY 2024–25.
It includes safeguards for sensitive industries and streamlines procedures to reduce compliance burdens, supporting Indian exporters in Oman’s $28 billion import market.
