Federal funds boost Ontario’s Summit Integrated Care program, expanding harm-reduction services.
The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville have received $3.6 million in federal funding to expand the Summit Integrated Care initiative, a community-led program offering harm-reduction services like overdose prevention, naloxone distribution, clean supplies, medication-assisted withdrawal, STI testing, and connections to housing and healthcare.
Launched in April 2025, the program has enrolled 239 participants and operates with flexible hours through a team of paramedics, health navigators, and a nurse practitioner.
It does not include safe consumption sites or safe supply services but collaborates with local initiatives like the HART Hub and Supportive Cabins.
Funding will support operations and data reporting until March 2028.
