China invested 5.68 trillion yuan ($810 billion) in water projects from 2021 to 2025, with annual spending exceeding 1 trillion yuan for four straight years. By end-2025, effective irrigated farmland reached 1.09 billion mu, up over 53 million mu since 2020, and rural tap water coverage hit 96%. Efforts also advanced groundwater management and protection of key water sources like the Sanjiangyuan Region.
